My first car was a Volkswagen Jetta. 1992 Wolfsburg edition. Red. My folks bought it for me for my sixteenth birthday. It was a really big deal. I took it off a curb one day for kicks. Thought it would be like the movies. Punctured a tire and cracked my right rear wheel. My dad yelled at me like there was no tomorrow. I didn’t bother explaining what happened. There’s no way he’d understand that I was an action hero.
